If you want to stump your friends with a great trivia question, ask them what is the only city in the World to host all three of golf’s most prestigious international team competitions – the Ryder Cup, The Presidents Cup and the Solheim Cup? The answer – Dublin, Ohio!
During the annual Memorial Golf Tournament, Jack Nicklaus announced that Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin would host The Presidents Cup in October 2013. The Presidents Cup, a team match play competition featuring 24 of the world's top golfers -- 12 from the United States and 12 from around the world (excluding Europe) -- is held every two years, and since 1996 has alternated between United States and international venues. The impact of The Presidents Cup coming to Dublin is tremendous -- generating an estimated $70 million to the local economy, attracting visitors from across the globe and a worldwide audience. This event will provide a tremendous opportunity to raise awareness of Dublin, Ohio as a great destination for not only golf events, but for other events as well. Having this type of event come to our town only enhances our visibility and credibility in hosting great events. It can open the door for us to attract other events, trade shows and conferences that are completely unrelated to golf.
