Summer is upon on us and so are the rising temperatures. Beat the heat by heading to one of our top spots to cool down in Dublin.
- Zoombezi Bay. This one’s a given. What better way to spend a hot summer day than at a water park? Fly down 17 huge water slides or float along a lazy river. Ride the waves in the Wild Tides wave pool or stand under a 1,000 gallon water barrel in Baboon Lagoon.

- Ballantrae Splash Park. Situated under the public art Dancing Hares, this fountain-filled public park is an afternoon of guaranteed fun (and it’s free!).

- The Chiller. You don’t have to get wet to cool off. Rent skates or bring your own when you come to this ice rink. There is public skating daily, and lessons are offered Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.

- Dublin Community Recreation Center. You won’t get sunburned at this pool. The indoor aquatic facility features two water slides, a lazy river and a waterfall.

- Olentangy Paddle. I am new to kayaking, but after trying it just one time, I strongly recommend it. You get to enjoy being outside and the spectacular scenery as you float down the river. You don’t have to get wet, but if you are clumsy like me, you most likely will as you climb in and out of the boat.
