It should come as no surprise that in a city where “Irish is an attitude”, St. Patrick’s Day is a BIG deal. Because of this, I feel it is only appropriate that I devote today’s blog to a countdown of sorts. You might not have realized it, but today is the halfway point to St. Patrick’s Day – that’s right; the Irish celebration is just 6 months away!

2011 St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Here in Dublin we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an array of activities. The most memorable is our St. Patrick’s Day Parade (named one of "America’s Best St. Patrick’s Day Parades" by U.S. News & World Report). The parade is about 1 mile long and features approximately 100 floats! Other highlights of the day include a pancake breakfast, the “Best Legs in a Kilt” contest, and a whole lot of musical entertainment and specials at area shops and restaurants!

The festivities will be held on March 16, 2013. Event information can be found on the City of Dublin’s website in the coming months. Mark your calendars, and plan a trip to experience St. Patrick’s Day the Dublin way!
