St. Patrick’s Day might be 12 days away (yes, we’ve been counting), but there’s a party going on in Historic Dublin this Thursday! The inaugural Jig Thursday (a reboot of Sláinte Thursday) kicks off at 6 p.m. on March 7 and will take place the first Thursday of the month throughout the year. A number of Irish-inspired activities are scheduled during the evening, including:
- Best Legs in Kilt contest – Men ages 21+ can compete for the Best Irish Spirit and Legs in a Kilt Outfit award. To enter, contact Ha’Penny Bridge Imports of Ireland. The judging will take place at Brazenhead.
- Irish drink specials – Brazenhead, Oscar’s, Dublin Village Tavern, J. Liu, La Chatelaine, Mezzo and Tucci’s are serving up Celtic cocktails.
- Entertainment by strolling bagpipers and Irish stepdancers
Other features of the event include fare from local food trucks, trolley rides (from 6 to 8 p.m.), store sales and a special walk led by Olde Town Ghost Tours.
