I've always been a fan of the theater - whether it's a broadway production or a local show. I even worked for my University's theater department as an undergrad. So, you can imagine my interest when I heard news of The Abbey Theater of Dublin and its fall season. The lineup (listed below) is perfect for a family outing and getting kids interested in the performing arts!
Performances are held in the Dublin Community Recreation Center (5600 Post Road). Tickets are available at the door before each show, at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, or by calling 614-410-4550. For most shows, tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children and seniors. Magic Man Carroll Baker returns to the Abbey Theater on Saturday, November 3 (11 a.m.) to mystify audiences with his illusions.
Celebrate the Christmas season with a classic performance of “The Nutcracker” portrayed by the Dublin Dance Centre & Gymnastics. The show is scheduled for Saturday, December 1, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Jazz artist Dwight Lenox will delight music lovers with the songs of the season on Sunday, December 2, at 3 p.m.
The Abbey Theater will present the Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, throughout December. Shows are December 6, 7, 8, 13,14 and 15 at 7 p.m.
