The holiday season is officially upon us! To celebrate, here’s five holiday happenings scheduled throughout Dublin this week.
The City of Dublin hosts the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony tomorrow (November 29) at 6 p.m. in front of Indian Run Elementary (80 W. Bridge Street). See Santa, hear holiday songs, watch a dance performance and snack on hot chocolate and pizza from Late Night Slice food truck.
*Visit the Dublin library for cookies with Santa (7-8 p.m.).
*Donations of children’s winter gloves are being accepted for the Welcome Warehouse.
Six Historic Dublin restaurants face off in this culinary competition on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Buy a tasting ticket for $5 and then vote for your favorite! Tickets are available at Brazenhead, Dublin Village Tavern, J. Liu, La Chatelaine, Mezzo, and Tucci’s. Advance tickets (buy 2 get 1 free) available at Ha’Penny Bridge Imports and Sisters Sweet Shoppe. Proceeds will benefit the MOMM Foundation.
Place your bids on beautiful gingerbread houses made by local high school students during a silent auction on Saturday, December 1. Bidding runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will be donated to a charity.
Watch the Dublin Dance Centre & Gymnastics perform a rendition of this holiday classic at the Abbey Theater of Dublin on Saturday, December 1 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.
The #1 Zoo in the Country celebrates the season with holiday lights festive music, appearances by Santa, readings of “Twas the Night Before Wildlights”, and more.
