St. Patrick’s Day may be over, but don’t put away your green garb just yet. Here in Dublin, we like to celebrate all things Irish 365 days a year. That’s why we’ve created an entire calendar of Irish events, not to mention all the shops that offer authentic Irish products daily. Here are just a few ways you can show your Irish attitude all year long:
Jig on the first Thursday of the month. Historic Dublin businesses come together on the first Thursday of each month to provide live music, dining and shopping specials, and even trolley rides! Each Jig Thursday has a different theme, so keep an eye on our events calendar for the next one.
Listen to live music at Brazenhead. This summer, you can hear live Irish music on patio at Brazenhead every Thursday. Enjoy the sounds of the Rice Brothers in May and June, and Homeland in July and August while you sit back and enjoy a Guinness or their signature beer-battered fish and chips.
Attend the Dublin Irish Festival. This three day annual event is now the largest of its kind. Enjoy music and dance entertainment on 7 stages, sample Irish cuisine, immerse yourself into historical and cultural experiences, and shop hundreds of vendors with Irish products. Bring the whole family, and get ready for a sham-rockin’ good time the first weekend in August.
Pet Celtic canines. Meet some furry Irish friends on June 20th at Dog Days of Dublin, hosted by Chelsea Borough Home. Adults and kids alike can participate in fun educational activities and take home a bandana for your own four-legged friend to benefit the rescue group.
Buy stuff from Ireland without actually going to Ireland. Ha’penny Bridge Imports offers a wide range of products from Beleek china to kilts and jewelry. Stop in during one of their Irish Shopping Saturdays for live Irish entertainment while you browse the store.
