2024 Solar Eclipse in Dublin, Ohio

April 8, 2024: Experience Dublin in the Dark

What’s better than an Irish pub crawl with your crew or Johonson's Ice Cream and the Field of Corn with your littles? Two words: glow sticks. Gather your people and come experience Dublin in the Dark for the 2024 Solar Eclipse. Our city sits within the path of totality, which means Dublin will experience approx. 90 seconds of total darkness in the middle of the day! The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806, and the next will not occur until 2099, so don’t be left out and in the dark!

Want to get the full effect? Book your stay at one of our participating hotels and receive access to Dublin’s exclusive rooftop viewing party. Claim your spot when you make a reservation at one of our participating Dublin hotels.

Traffic

Ohio is within a one-day drive to 70% of the US population. Dublin is anticipated to see high traffic impacts before and after the Eclipse. If you are traveling into Dublin, plan on staying a while longer after the eclipse is over to avoid traffic.

During the eclipse, please refrain from:

  • Stopping along roadways to watch.
  • Calling 911 for traffic jams unless it is a life-safety emergency.
  • Parking on private property.

If you wish to watch the eclipse in a nearby park, using more eco-friendly forms of transportation such as walking, biking, or scootering is recommended.
