From the majestic unicorn to the sleek mermaid to the mighty kraken, certainly these are just tall tales or figments of our imagination...or are they? Find out at COSI.
Experience amazing stories you’ll uncover exploring COSI's newest special exhibit Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids in the American Museum of Natural History Special Exhibition Gallery, that shines a light on both the real and imagined side of history’s most legendary creatures.
Explore the exhibit where you'll run into creatures of water, like a kraken with 20-foot-long tentacles, creatures of land, like a 10-foot-long unicorn, and creatures of air, like a 17-foot-long dragon. Touch casts of narwhal tusk, travel the length of a 120-foot-long Chinese parade dragon or build your own dragon and watch it come to life. Keep your eyes peeled, you may even run into Sasquatch!
Along the way you'll learn the meaning of mythic creatures today. They can be rooted in long-standing cultural tradition and can inform personal identity.
