Leatherlips 30th Anniversary

Details

Dublin Arts Council’s Arts & Wellness initiative continues, exploring how the nature of art can nurture personal and community wellbeing.

The event will feature a temporary student-created public art installation, various forms of artmaking, performance, and activities that aim to explore Dublin’s indigenous heritage; connecting visitors to the environment, community wellness and one another.

The event will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of Leatherlips by Boston-area sculptor and public artist Ralph Helmick. The 12-foot limestone portrait of Wyandot Chief Leatherlips, unveiled in 1990, is the first artwork of the Dublin Art in Public Places collection.
