For five nights only, Dublin Irish Days presented by the Dublin Irish Festival will host the performance of “The Irish… and How they Got That Way,” produced by the Abbey Theater of Dublin on the Coffman Amphitheater stage in Coffman Park, 5200 Emerald Pkwy.
An Off-Broadway musical written by Frank McCourt features an eclectic mix of Irish music ranging from the traditional "Danny Boy" to U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." An irreverent but affectionate history of the Irish in America that mingles laughter and sentiment in a tapestry of classical songs and stories. The production encapsulates the most tumultuous times of the past century with vibrant humor and irony.
The show runs from Aug. 4 through 8, each night beginning at 7 p.m. presented by Giant Eagle Market District. Theater tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. July 6. Tickets will be sold as tables of four for $60 and are non-refundable. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance online at DublinIrishFestival.org. The musical is set in a pub and in order to immerse the audience into the story, a cash bar will be available.
