DUBLIN, Ohio– (July 17, 2017) A collection of landscape paintings by Columbus artist Rod Bouc is now on view in the Bridge Park Gallery located on the first floor lobby of real estate developer Crawford Hoying’s Bridge Park headquarters, 6640 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. The exhibition space, curated by Dublin Arts Council, which will host ongoing installations by local and regional artists, is accessible to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Landscapes: Rod Bouc, the inaugural exhibition in the space, will open with a reception for the artist on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is free of charge and the public is invited.
The exhibition features a selection of 11 of Bouc’s recent works representing a variety of media, style and subject matter on which the artist has focused for the past 40 years. Bouc, a New Regionalist painter, is an observer of the subtleties of light, color, shape and composition that combine to define natural surroundings. His surfaces, gently worked in charcoal, pastel, monotype and encaustic stick, engulf the viewer and reference the vast open spaces of the Midwestern landscape. Bouc was raised in Todd Valley, Neb., and has resided in the Columbus area since beginning graduate school at The Ohio State University in 1977.
“This Bridge Park Gallery and the Rod Bouc exhibition highlight the passion for public art and the collaborative spirit the Dublin Arts Council has for sharing art with the Dublin community. We at Crawford Hoying could not be more proud to host what we know will be the first of many high quality artwork openings,” said Russ Hunter, director of design and planning for Crawford Hoying.
Landscapes: Rod Bouc remains on view through Oct. 6, 2017. For additional information, contact Dublin Arts Council Executive Director David S. Guion via email guion@dublinarts.org or by phone at 614.889.7444.
