What is Pickleball?

While Pickleball is relatively new to the leisure sports scene, its history goes all the way back to the 1960s when two dads came up with the game one lazy afternoon at their vacation homes near Seattle.

The game is a combination of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. It is played on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. The paddles are smaller than tennis rackets and are made of wood or composite materials. The ball is made of plastic and has holes in it, similar to a whiffle ball. The easy-to-learn nature of the sport plus the accessibility of equipment has made Pickleball not only a popular way to get active but also a great way to meet new people and make friends.
